I was wondering if anybody has a good coon lure that is easy and effective. I was thinking about maybe doing something with eggs and letting them sour a little. Any suggestions on what to add to them? Maybe something sweet for balance?
One problem with eggs all critters eat them. If you are exclusively target coons I would make a fish based bait with honey or molasses used to sweeten it. Something along those lines will help cut down on non target catches.
egg based baits will give you quite abit of non target catches. I make some baits/lures that are egg based but they are not used to target coon. Keeper is on target ( imo ) fish and sweets are both good . Mixed they work well also. If you are wanting to experiment use jack mackeral, tuna or sardines. Mix with marshmellow, honey, anise , suryp , ect... Coon are pretty easy , set on sign or where you know they frequent and you will do fine. Good luck. Bill
